The short version

What we collect

How your messages are processed

To work, Peaceful Pairs sends your messages to Google's Gemini AI, on Google's paid API tier, to generate the mediator's responses. Under that tier, Google does not use your conversations to train or improve its AI models, and does not have human reviewers read them to build its products. Google retains them only briefly, to detect abuse and keep the service safe. We treat your conversations as confidential consumer data, keep only what's needed to run the service, and do not sell them. Your account and conversations are stored in our database (hosted by Supabase) and our service runs on a hosting provider (Render); we store this data in plain text, without adding our own field-level encryption.

Not therapy, not confidential in the legal sense

Peaceful Pairs is a communication and relationship-wellness tool. It is not therapy, counseling, or medical care, and the conversations are not legally privileged or HIPAA-protected. Please don't rely on it as a substitute for professional help. If you are in crisis, contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988) or your local emergency number.
