Privacy & Terms
Plain-language summary. Last updated .
This is a plain-language summary, not final legal text. Peaceful Pairs is preparing full, attorney-reviewed Privacy Policy and Terms of Service documents before public launch. This page explains our intentions and how the product is built today.
The short version
- We don't sell your conversations, and there are no ads or trackers anywhere in the app or on this site.
- To generate replies, every message you send is sent to our AI provider, Google (Gemini). Other users only see sessions they took part in, and your solo reflections are never shown to another user.
- You can delete your account anytime, which removes your account and private data. Note: messages you already sent in a shared conversation remain in the other person's copy.
- Honest limits: we don't add our own encryption to stored data, and we don't offer a data export. Peaceful Pairs is for adults 18 and older.
What we collect
- Your account: your email address, your first and last name (your first name is shown to the other participant), and a securely hashed password.
- Your conversations: the messages you send, the topic and relationship type, any private goal you set (never shown to the other person), and AI-generated summaries, titles, and agreements.
- Safety & support: a short yes/no safety check (we keep only a flag, not your answers) and any reports you submit about an AI message.
- Technical: your IP address is used briefly, in memory, only to limit abuse — it is not stored in our database or linked to your account.
How your messages are processed
To work, Peaceful Pairs sends your messages to Google's Gemini AI, on Google's paid API tier, to generate the mediator's responses. Under that tier, Google does not use your conversations to train or improve its AI models, and does not have human reviewers read them to build its products. Google retains them only briefly, to detect abuse and keep the service safe. We treat your conversations as confidential consumer data, keep only what's needed to run the service, and do not sell them. Your account and conversations are stored in our database (hosted by Supabase) and our service runs on a hosting provider (Render); we store this data in plain text, without adding our own field-level encryption.
Not therapy, not confidential in the legal sense
Peaceful Pairs is a communication and relationship-wellness tool. It is not therapy, counseling, or medical care, and the conversations are not legally privileged or HIPAA-protected. Please don't rely on it as a substitute for professional help. If you are in crisis, contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988) or your local emergency number.
Your choices
- Delete your account at any time from Settings in the app, or from the web at peacefulpairs.com/delete-account. This permanently removes your account and your private data, including your solo reflections and saved summaries.
- If you had a conversation with another person, that shared conversation stays available to them, and the messages you already sent remain visible in their copy — we cannot remove individual messages from a shared transcript. It is no longer linked to your account.
- We don't currently offer a data export or per-message deletion; full-account deletion is the self-serve option (plus automatic cleanup of conversations after 30 days of inactivity).
- Contact us with any other privacy request.
Terms of use (summary)

- In an emergency, always contact professional or emergency services — the app is not an emergency service.
